These terms govern your use of this website, REV23, and REV23 Desktop, provided by Painful Pleasures, LLC under the REV23 brand. By using our services, you agree to these terms. If you use REV23 for a business, you confirm that you have authority to agree on its behalf.
Your account and software use
You must be at least 18 to purchase a subscription. Keep your account details accurate, protect your sign-in credentials, and notify us of unauthorized access. Each team member should use their own account with the permissions appropriate to their work. The business is responsible for authorizing and managing its team's access.
Your subscription gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the software for your business within your plan and license limits. We retain ownership of the software, website content, and trademarks. Any separate software license supplied with a product also applies to that product.
Acceptable use and uploads
Do not use our services unlawfully, access records without permission, infringe another person's rights, distribute malicious software, or interfere with security or normal operation. Reverse engineering is prohibited except where applicable law permits it.
Upload only records and content reasonably needed to operate your tattoo or piercing business, such as identification, consent documents, portfolios, and procedure or aftercare photos. Lawful, non-sexualized photos documenting adult piercings or aftercare may include intimate areas when needed for that purpose. Obtain appropriate consent, collect only what you need, and limit access to authorized people. Pornography, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, and child sexual abuse material are prohibited.
Do not upload client profile photos of anyone under 18. Necessary identification, birth certificates, guardianship records, and consent documents for minors may be uploaded with appropriate authorization for lawful business purposes.
Use messaging only for the purposes supported by the service. Current SMS and email features are for transactional communications such as bookings, reminders, receipts, and aftercare, not promotional campaigns. Obtain required consent and honor opt-outs. Do not send spam, harass recipients, or evade messaging safeguards. We may restrict access to prohibited content and limit messaging, uploads, or automated activity that abuses the service or materially disrupts it for others.
Subscriptions and payment
The price, billing period, taxes, and any trial terms are shown when you subscribe or purchase. By authorizing recurring billing, you authorize charges at the agreed interval until canceled. Keep your billing information current. Failed payments may result in suspended access. We will notify you of subscription price changes before they apply to a future renewal.
Payments are non-refundable. We do not prorate unused time or issue refunds for cancellation, except where required by law.
REV23
You can cancel your recurring subscription at any time through Settings → Cloud → Subscription & Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals, and access continues through the end of your paid billing period. If you do not reactivate, we may permanently delete your Cloud and its records once both your paid period has ended and at least 14 days have passed since cancellation. A Cloud on a trial that ends without a paid subscription may be deleted at least five days after the trial ends. Keep copies of records you need before deletion.
REV23 Desktop
You can cancel a recurring Desktop subscription through your REV23 Account. Cancellation takes effect immediately: future charges stop and connected licenses become inactive. A prepaid Desktop subscription does not renew automatically; its licenses expire at the end of the purchased term unless you renew. Read-only mode remains available for locally stored records. Check the Windows compatibility and license requirements before purchasing.
Your records and responsibilities
You retain your rights to the records, photos, and other content you provide. You give REV23 permission to host, store, and process that content as needed to operate and support the service. We do not share your client records with Painful Pleasures or other related brands, sell them, or use them for advertising or marketing. Artist and user account and professional contact information is handled separately as described in our Privacy Policy. Our Your Studio's Data page explains how you control access to your Cloud's records.
You can download signed release-form PDFs in REV23.
You also allow REV23 to analyze business, service, and usage data across studios for product improvement, reporting, and industry research. We may create, retain, use, and share aggregated or de-identified insights, including with Painful Pleasures and related brands, provided they do not identify clients or reveal a studio's private records. We do not use or permit these insights to re-identify clients.
You are responsible for having the permissions and consents needed to collect and use information, managing your team's access, and meeting the laws that apply to your business, including procedure, consent, and record-retention requirements. REV23 provides software, not legal or medical advice. You remain responsible for the services you provide to your clients.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information. Our App Terms cover app use and uploads, including Messaging Terms for studio appointment and aftercare texts.
Service availability and third parties
We may update our software and services. Maintenance, network problems, and other interruptions can affect availability. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend or end access for nonpayment, misuse, or security reasons. You are responsible for preserving records you need to retain.
Payment processors and other integrations may have their own agreements. Your studio's client payments, deposits, refunds, and procedures are transactions between your business and its clients; these subscription terms do not set your studio's policies for them.
Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by law, our website and software are provided as is and as available, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We are not liable for business losses, including lost revenue, profits, or opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use the services. We are also not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data. These terms do not exclude rights, warranties, or liabilities that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from the services will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid for the services in the 12 months before the claim.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify us against third-party claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the services, infringement of another person's rights, or breach of these terms.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Maryland law, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Howard County, Maryland, subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
We will post updated terms here and change the date above. We will provide notice of material changes to subscribers before they take effect. Questions about these terms or help canceling a subscription can be sent to support@rev23.com.
